DIY Video: Porsche 911 Door Stay Repair
Here is a short video detailing how to replace door stays and reinforce damaged door sheet metal.
In case you are not too familiar with this, the door stays on air-cooled Porsche 911s commonly fail and allow the door to swing wide open unrestricted. To make matters worse, the thin door sheet metal where the door stay bolts in often rips, preventing the door stay from working properly and making it difficult to bolt on a new one.
I finally got around to doing this repair on my driver side door and found it was surprisingly easy. So I put together a quick YouTube video to help others through the process.
My driver door now stays exactly where I want it to and works better than the passenger side. I hope you find this informative and that it helps you refresh your Porsche 911 door stays.
