Original Product: Air-Cooled Porsche 911 Oil Cooler NACA Duct
I’m proud to introduce the released version of my G-body oil cooler NACA duct!
Note: The following information is for educational use only. Before proceeding please read my disclaimer page.
This exterior duct replaces the front right parking lamp (or rubber bumper side strip in ROW cars) to flow additional air directly in the path of the front oil cooler.
Material
3D printed black plastic that is UV, chemical, and heat resistant, in a satin finish that blends in with the surrounding black trim bits of the impact bumper 911s for a period-correct, OEM+ look. Run it as-is or paint it if you wish.
Compatibility/Fitment
Fits all G-body 911s with stock front bumpers, horns, and oil coolers. It is slightly recessed into the front bumper so your shins will thank you as you walk closely around the front of the car. 🙂
Installation
About 20 minutes and fits with the factory horns and aluminum oil cooler bash plate in place. You do need to drill 1 hole in the bash plate directly behind the bumper but you can keep it in place to protect the oil cooler in case of a front end impact. Completely invisible from outside and no mods needed to the chassis or bumper itself.
Here is a short video sumarizing the install process:
Cooling Performance
On a 3.0L CIS engine with a 28 tube brass oil cooler I was able to get up to 9 deg F in oil temp reduction during summer triple digit temps at highway speeds. Your results will vary depending on your engine and cooling setup. Trombone coolers won’t see much difference.
Price
Price for the duct plus all installation hardware is $275 USD plus shipping. For international shipping contact me directly for a quote.
