DIY Video: Porsche 911 Fuse Panel Upgrade
If you have been to my Instagram you will know that time functions in a non-linear fashion on this blog, much like a Quentin Tarantino movie.
The 911 is already back on the road, but the detailed build progress here has not caught up yet. So here I go fast forwarding to present day to share with you a DIY I filmed and put up on YouTube. It is a detailed (yet easy) process illustrating how to upgrade your old OE bullet-style fuse panel with a modern mini-blade style one, with the primary objective of increasing the reliability of the electrical system. I split it into three parts to make it more digestible:
Part 1 of 3: Removal of the OE Front Trunk Fuse Panel
Part 2 of 3: Installation of the New Front Trunk Fuse Panel
Part 3 of 3: Complete Replacement of the Rear Engine Bay Fuse Panel
This particular fuse panel fits 911s from 1974-1989 but the general process applies to earlier cars with smaller fuse panels as well. So if you have an electrical gremlin here and there you have been trying to get rid of, this may help.
Special thanks go to fellow 911SC owner John Lewis (http://www.zonoscope.com) who was kind enough to do the typewritten titles and editing for this video series.
